I didn't have as many kids stop by as I thought, is all.
[ Then, maybe a few minutes later: ]
It seemed like a good opportunity for me to apologize for how I'd spoken to you. You may have been harsh, but you ensured that we accomplished what needed to be done.
[ She won't explicitly say "thank you", she's a little too stubborn on the topic for that, but the acknowledgment is there all the same. ]
[This is the part where he should apologize to her in turn, but unfortunately business is all he knows how to be, anymore. Focus on the mission. Now is as good a chance as any to get an update.]
[ She doesn't expect one to come, really, so it's no skin off her back when the opportunity passes and he's talking shop instead. ]
Nothing groundbreaking; just affirmation of suspicions I'd already had for the "what", but no "how" it happened or "how" to fix it. The samples are... not going to be viable for many attempts. I'll have to be careful in how I proceed.
I've never said I'm not involved. I was speaking exclusively of Jesse's biopsies. And you aren't answering my question.
[ No excuses are made for Gabriel, even if he hasn't laid a finger on her (yet, barring his panic attack that left her blocking a haymaker). Time after time she's run into him without a hint of malice or ill intent from him, though that didn't mean she would so easily forgive what he had done to Jesse and Fareeha on arrival. Yet he hadn't been the only one to cause damage, either. How often had 76 been throwing punches? Angela couldn't even count them on her hands anymore.
The gist of it is: prove yourself worthy of the information and we'll talk. ]
You vastly underestimate my relationship with him; "when the time comes", I'll have something to help him. And I will have no issues administering whatever that fix may be.
[ Which is to say he'll have to offer something better than that if he wants to pry the answers from her. But also consider doctor-patient confidentiality and how closely she will guard those particulars, cradling them close to her chest. ]
You have a remarkable amount of faith in someone who keeps trying to kill your friends and put you in a cast. How do you think he's going to react when you say you're going to 'fix' him?
It is more patience than faith, and again, he has been largely controlling himself. What happened to me was unintentional; he was in a panic and he didn't recognize me. I bumped into him around a corner.
I have my own way with words, 76. I have faith that it will go over far from disastrously, even if it likely won't be "well". We have history and trust.
Then that's my business. You can tell my corpse "I told you so" and do what you see fit after the fact, provided death sticks.
[ Heroes Never Die, after all. It's hard to say if he'd maul her bad enough that she wouldn't come back from it. (Provided none of them know death isn't permanent here, yet.) ]

What is your interest in Reaper, in the first place?

[The one where he drew 76's visor all over some fruit and then smashed it a bunch.]

I'm not so foolhardy as that, and my kindness and suspension of belief will only extend so far in attempting a working friendship.

[Because. You know. He's digging around in all of this classified Overwatch information.]
We've crossed paths. Reaper doesn't like other mercenaries much.

[ Read: You punched an awful lot of my people. ]
Just enjoy the cookies, 76, and say "thank you".
