[Now that Lavellan has paid off his tree debt, 76 doesn't much care about his comings and goings--if he wants to show up and lend them a hand, he finds Lavellan work to do and pays him accordingly. It's not a bad system, all things considered, and he doesn't think much of it when he doesn't see his part-time farm hand for the latter part of the month.
It's not surprising when he shows up at Jack's doorstep, but perhaps it is a little unexpected. The arm is new, that's for sure, and though Jack knows there are many ways to replace a limb, the timing is pretty suspect. He has a feeling he can guess what this is about, but he'll let Lavellan tell him, first.]
[Lavellan, however, has no idea there are other ways to regrow limbs and just assumes Jack is fucking with him.
Generally he can appreciate some off-mood humor, but right now he's on edge and looking for some insight, and that's kind of rude. He doesn't strike back, but he does set his jaw with irritation.]
If it escaped your notice, I have somewhat more arms than I used to have. [And, not wanting to give Jack the opportunity for another potshot, he continues right along.] I went to the asteroid.
[But he’d been willing to give the new limb the benefit of the doubt, even if timing makes it apparent that Lavellan did, in fact, go to the asteroid. Jack had been more than suspicious of the place, not allowing them to try anything on him, but he remembers speaking to Venom and Claire about how there are certainly others who might have benefited from what they were offering.
Clearly, Lavellan is one. Jack can’t honestly begrudge him for it.]
Are you experiencing anything?
[Because given what they saw on the security feed, that would be Jack’s guess.]
I talked to someone else who had it happen. At least, I think she did. We didn't know what it was until we saw the security feed. Now it all makes a little more sense.
[Mei, which means that Jack has at least some degree of personal investment in what's going on. It doesn't surprise him that Lavellan, with his brand new arm, is inquiring about the post he made.]
[He wants to know what the fuck it is, and what else he might have to be worried about in the future. And he wants to know firsthand, without having to hear it from the Savrii doctors. He's learned never to trust official statements.
A slow grin spreads across his face.]
You're already familiar with my abilities, of course.
[He grins, a fleeting expression that's nevertheless there, short-lived as it is. In the next moment, however, he's all business again.]
I'd like to take a sample from your arm. Run it by Doctor Ziegler. See if we can't tract the parasite using the bio-signature of something that came from the asteroid.

I may have expelled something problematic of my own.
[Before Jack can interrupt, Lavellan squares up, looking Jack dead in the eye.] I saw you volunteer to track it down.
