Ana knows him better than he knows himself, most of the time, and though that’s certainly an invaluable quality to have in a second-in-command, it's on a whole other level when she's acting as more than that. He's got military professionalism ingrained in the very fiber of his being--a testament to being a soldier longer than he's been anything else. Sometimes it's hard to put that aside, even for someone like Ana. The touch helps.
