[Back during the interlude, sometime before the current mission, 76 receives a small note from Roxas. It's written, and a lot of words are scratched out (strikethroughs). Not because he's trying to redact information, but more like he's trying to figure out how to phrase it and second guesses himself.]
Back in the lab...I didn't really get a chance to explain what was going on.
It was i'm I didn't really know what was happening. I meant it when I said I've been in there before though.
The guy on the stained glass...his name is Sora. He'sme? who I'm supposed to be? We're connected, and it's kind of complicated. I don't know who the other two were when it changed though.
I guess I just wanted to explain. And say sorry. And thanks.
I guess if you have more questions, you can ask

A little bit, yeah.
[He knows that he's a bit weird in the context of everything, though some of the stuff in the room made him realize that it might be a bit bigger than he thinks. Which kind of scares him.]

Yeah. But...I never actually met Sora. I'm connected to him, but I've only seen him once.
[And he was asleep and then the Hunger came and it was a bad time.]

[There's a long pause as Roxas figures out how to write this, and then actually writes it.]
See, the thing is, in my world there's these creatures called Heartless, and if you lose your Heart, you become one. There's also a shell that's left behind, and that's called a Nobody. And if a person had a really strong Heart, that Nobody sort of retains their old form.
And that's what happened to Sora. He had to lose his Heart to save a friend of his, and I got created in the process. But Sora was able to restore his Heart...but I still existed, which isn't normal, I guess. That's how we're connected.
[There's also an attempted drawing of Sora, but Roxas is not an artist. But they share similar features, such as spikey hair and blue eyes.]

[He's, still not really sure.]
I'm not sure.
When I went there the fist time it was when I was attacked by a Dusk, which is one of the lesser kinds of Nobodies.
I think it represents Sora's heart, but I can't be sure of that. I never really got the chance to ask anyone.

Yeah.
But, thanks for hearing me out. I appreciate it.
[It's frustrating, but at least he can set it aside.]

I tried asking, but of course the guy disappeared into the crowd before I could get an answer. [ A sigh. ] Starting to think our heads are just open books for anybody that wants to see.
[ And that's not great for those who want to keep stuff buried. ]
Mind if I drop by, then?

[ He figures he can ask in more detail once he sees Jack in person, so he replies with an "okay," and signs off.
And it's not like McCree has a busy schedule, plus Jack is only a couple doors down, so he heads straight over and raps on the door, a small stack of photographs held between a metal finger and thumb. ]

Talk about going above and beyond for a work party.
[ While Jack's looking, McCree comes in and takes a load off, watching the smile appear on his face. ]
Glad Ana caught Reinhardt the Scaredy-cat lying on the broken table. Never saw someone so spooked from his own story.

You can keep a few, y'know.
[ That's why he brought them over; not just to show, but to share. ]
Sure we did.
[ Right now is about the time that he'd ruin a damn good moment by launching into his grievances about Blackwatch and how it all went wrong, but he's let go of some of his anger on that since the last time he and Jack had a heart to heart. There's still an ache at everything he had and everything he walked away from, but he felt as though his family was breaking apart before he chose to abandon it.
An ache isn't anger, though. ]
Reinhardt and Torbjorn always fighting like an old married couple, me and Genji daring each other to do stupid stunts and the doc begging us not to 'cause she said she wouldn't patch us up from it. But we knew she would. Playing cowboys and omnics with Fareeha. Damn good times. Sometimes you even smiled.
[ He says it in a joking tone. Sure, Jack had a heavy weight on him back then, but he was surrounded by family too. ]
